Yesterday we had the Kennington Stampede/Roundup/Reunion. It was SO fun to see everyone that came. It could have only been made better by those that didn’t make it. Here are a few images of Mom’s Herd – a herd she can be proud of – lol.
I have so many great images – many more candid's that I just can’t post for sheer number.
We did a photo booth with some of our family’s Cowboy Heirlooms. Things from Grandpa Nebeker’s saddle to Grandpa K’s Rodeo Chaps and Tepee Tent, to our family’s authentic Desert water bag, to hobbles . . .
We have Pony Express blood running through our veins. Aunt Cheri discovered Ancestor Ira and his brother who broke ponies for it and also rode when needed. Cool Ira! We celebrated that by a Pony Express course where little and big riders had to endure marauding cousins, weather conditions, and fresh pony exchanges to get their mail through. (Cheri’s handmade ponies made a big hit.)
Aaaaa! I give up! If you want to see the rest, I think the best way is to send me an inexpensive flash drive or a blank DVD, self addressed. They are huge, high def. files, and will make great prints too. (Umm, there are over 500 images to peruse. The lighting and subjects were just too much for this photographer to resist). Fun time. Thank you – all my big, wonderful family.
