Hi Mom!

Hi Mom!  I’m just hanging out here at Grma’s and Grpa’s with them and the Uncs, driving my own car, whining and dining as I please.

Joyful Noise

I wish this were an audio/visual post tonight.  Singing and playing for Brother Thomas is one of those rare, wish-everyone-could-have experiences.  And when the selection is “Come Thou Fount” arranged by the Mac Willburg, THEN the ingredients are there for an out of this world joyful noise.  I love this man for his tenacity, passion, faith, kindness and amazing ability to be an instrument for inviting (mmmm, maybe requiring) the Spirit to race deep into everyone’s heart through music.  Thank you.  Thank you.  (I got to play flute with Becky and McKenzie.)

You couldn’t tell by body language, but after he warms the choir up he doesn’t make a sound while directing.  Everyone knows, however, exactly how he wants THEM to sing just by watching the many faces of Brother Thomas:

And there’s Pam in some of these shots – sitting quietly behind him, supporting and loving her Mr. Thomas always.

Wish you could hear them.

Our Mighty Fine Neighbors

One really nice thing about living a few yards away from people you adore and having a nice camera is that when the once-in-awhiles happen at their house you can zip over while the broccoli is steaming  and brush shoulders for  a minute.  That happened today. Dewey’s marrying, Molly’s graduating and Sunday dinner must be had.

1 – 2 – 3 – shots are important, of course.  But the stories that happen before and during the shoot can be fun too.  For instance, no one said “Now, look at the Baby!”  But . . .
Everyone looks at the Baby.  And no wonder -

“Of Course!” says she

Knock, Knock
Who’s there?
Mary.
Mary who?
Marry Me!
It is official – Neil and Caitlin will tie the knot July 20 (I think).  It all happened last night involving a little trickery, a 4-wheel mountain face drive, binoculars, and a “MARRY ME’ sign.

Ah!  Let the wedding games, errr,  plans, begin.  Yay for smiles and grins and laughing and dreams and plans and commitment and rings  and popping the question.  “Of course!” was her answer.

A Day At the Fair

We spent a fun day at the Renaissance Festival last Friday. Becky and I, however, were wondering all day what pirates and gypsies and belly dancers  had to do with the  Renaissance.
