He’s been our bishop for almost all of the twins’ life. Long enough for us to have called Bishop Bingham, Bishop Bing-man while they learned the finer points of the pronunciation of his name. He was (is) a household name (pronounced correctly now) here at our home. And many, many other homes.
We listened to him speak yesterday for the last time as our bishop. There could be much to say about this Gentleman Farmer/Teacher/Disciple/Bishop/Family Man . . . , but in keeping with my personal blog philosophy of Big pictures and Little text, I’ll condense the pages and pages of insights and notes, truths and doctrines I ate and drank under his leadership to these 5:
Don’t Pout, and don’t Doubt. He didn’t say those words, he just never did either of those things, and made me want to be like that too.
