Puppy Love

This post is for our Border Collie friends who are purchasing  Meg and Cisco’s puppies and have been asking for pictures of the mother.  Here she is again, both as a puppy and all grown up:

This is how Meg looks when she’s not being a mommy-dog.  I love her rich red-brown coat and striking tan and white markings.  Her tail is a glorious, feathery plume.

  

She did not have  blue eyes when she came to us (about 9 wks old) but I don’t know if she had them we she was a really young pup.  It would be amazing if her puppies kept those bright blue peepers! 

 

 

 

Meg and Cisco’s 2nd litter of puppies are 6 weeks old today.  We are spending hours every day with these adorable bundles.

 

Dolly is the chubbiest and roundest of the bunch.

Roxy has a glorious white chest and full collar.

 

Rosie – I woke her up for this picture so she’s looking drowsy because she is.

 

 

Ace has a handsome black/white face.

 

 

 

Scout has amazing blue eyes and his nose will probably be completely brown.

Nellie’s markings are all about symmetry.

Progress of A Horse

Kyle’s colt, Hidalgo, was born July 2011. Polly is his dam, and a fine, dark Quarter horse stallion of one of Jay’s friends is his sire.  He has been handled and petted since his Day 1.


Two and a half years later . . . he’s under the Natural Horsemanship training of Tucker and becoming a grand Western Pleasure horse and, maybe, a roper.
    





Kyle is asking questions and being trained in horsey psychology.

  
Today ‘Dalgo is going to experience something new and scary – bags of hay cubes flopping around his sides.  When Tucker longes him he takes off bucking.  She says not to try to make a horse stop bucking – just make it as uncomfortable as you can for him. Neat to see how she does that.


After his party is over, he stands champing and licking his lips – a horsey sign of understanding and acceptance.

He may look dejected – he’s not.  Tucker is his chosen leader and a happy and safe place.
