Boy, Oh Boy! (and Girl)

Monticello was full of R and R.  My Guys took care of each other (with help from Grma and Grpa and Aunt Becky) while I spent some happy time with our Curtis Kids.

This little boy liked his new hat from Aunt Kathi.  And here is the other main event – a profile of Kyle and Anna’s little girl expected in February.

To celebrate, we started making some girlie Onesies  while we watched a movie (Mirror, Mirror) and went to Brunch the next morning at the Peace Tree CafĂ©.   Big Kyle was off to get a deer if he could.  Brrrr!  I was glad to snuggle into a blanket by their fireplace with Casen and a bunch of pumpkin picture books.

One must keep in touch with ones’ clients.  Good thing I had my pocket calculator so he could.  And Anna’s hot chocolate was superb.  So was the Breakfast Panini.  We decided that had to be a new Monticello tradition.

Milling Around at Gardner Village

It is that time of year where there are numerous witches milling around at Gardner Village.  I’ve missed it for a few years.  But THIS year we sisters took Mom there to chose braided rugs for her ‘Nearing Completion New Bedroom Project’.  We found them right off the bat and had some time for milling around ourselves.

We didn’t partake of the bakery goodies, but it was sure a feast for the eyes too.

The rugs are perfect and Mom also has a new lamp and bird-friend.  Can’t wait to see it all finished.

A Female Monarch Graces Us

While the guys went hunting and I went to Gardner Village, Caitlin came home to find our chrysalis had burst into this beautiful creature.  We all came home that night and enjoyed this amazing sight.

Kyle and Mark were exhausted from hunting, but they woke up to see the miracle.

We hope she has a wonderful life.  We know she’s a SHE because Becky and Caitlin found out the shape of wings of boys and girls and passed it on to us.  Girls have a gentle slope, boys don’t.  Also, I think I saw her flutter her eyelashes.

Anna the Adorable

This evening was too perfect not to capture this senior niece in her Autumn splendor.  Dear to my heart, she is also fun, funny, creative, smart, thoughtful, kind – thoroughly modern – thoroughly  old fashioned.  She makes my heart smile out loud because of her goodness.  And I couldn’t take my camera off her eyes and  hairy bling, errrr, that is, I mean, hair bling.

She’s sitting on my Grandpa Nebeker’s case which I just recently acquired and am thrilled to display in our home soon.  Mom told me a story about it and it deserves a post of its own.

Ella the puppy could hardly contain herself with excitement.  This is one of the few images where she isn’t a blur.  Daaa-ling little critter.

TTFN!   (as Tigger would say, “Taa Taa For Now”)  It’s getting late and I’m getting sleeeeepy.
